If you want to see a romantic comedy with a little bit of criminal intrigue and a lot of sunny seaside, your luck is smiling and youll find the summertime mood, though it is still April. It was a bit of a surprise for me, being generally sceptic about comedies lately.

Fools gold is a golden opportunity to dive deeply into the fresh atmosphere of pure fun, and it shall make you laugh your guts out for an hour and a half, or so. It was not the common plot that reminded me the classic Bud Spencer/Terrence Hill movies, but the inner feeling of something quite amusing.

Whats responsible for this impression? Probably its the trinity of charming young actors, Kate Hudson, Alexis Dziena and the perfect loser Matthew McConaughey, together with their ideal opposite, the old mean man Donald Sutherland. Their overall presence is pretty solid. On the other hand, it could be the cool dialog or probably the comedy approach, thats not extended to a limit to become comic itself. Or its the monolith combination of all of these, mixed together with a little bit of reggae.

The plot, in short, is focused upon the charismatic and fairly irresponsible character of Ben Finnegan (McConaughey), one who had seen too much Indiana Jones movies at the time. In his attempt to save his marriage, prosperity and even his own life altogether a handful of birds with one stone he has to fight for everything, against everyone and especially himself.

Along the way to the desired Spanish gold, he must join with his former wife, the quite charming Tess (Kate Hudson), the highly eccentric billionaire Nigel Honeycutt (Sutherland) and his real honey-daughter Gemma (Alexis Dziena). And there we go.

So, dont miss that. You gonna regret it.
