announces a competition of scientific works
among students, post-graduate students and young scholars
to participate in
the 7th International Youth Religious Studies Summer School:

“Islam: history, essential patterns and modern tendencies”

To take part in the competition it’s needed to give written work on any of the following themes. If your work has corresponding scientific level, you will be invited to participate in the 7th International Youth Religious Studies Summer School, which will take place in the middle of July.
The purpose of the Summer School is to give youth profound knowledge about Islam: its holidays, customs, religious doctrine and cult. There will also be highlighted problems of international and interreligious communication. Separately there will be examined anti-Islamic attitude in modern society and contemporary state of Islam in Ukraine and in the world. Meetings with Muslim religious and community organizations leaders are planned too.
By the results of the competition the best 30 works will be selected. Their authors will have the opportunity to present them during the School. The works will be printed in collected articles of the School.

Reference themes for contest works:
• The history of Islam.
• Muslim religious doctrine, customs and rituals.
• Social doctrines of Islam.
• Ethnic and religious problems in Muslim-Christian relations.
• Islam in the conditions of secularization and globalization.
• Islam and politics.
• Islam in Ukraine.

Articles requirements:
Not more than 10 000 characters with spaces, font Times New Roman, font size – 14, line spacing – 1,5. Literature reference are to be in square brackets with page number after comma (e.g. [15, 3]). List of literature should be in the end. There should be written author’s name and surname, educational institution, e-mail and telephone in the top right corner.
Articles should be sent till 25 May 2008 to e-mail: m_a_r@ukr.net.
