Presently, the band\'s name is Hades Almighty, because there is another American band named after the God of Death. In old times, the band was simply called \'Hades\'. Besides, Hades impressed us all positively with their debut in far 1994 when the boom of black metal was obvious. The band belonged to the new Norwegian wave, which had made the style even more popular. Jorn Inge Tunsberg is undoubtfully a leader. He had formerly been part of the legendary Old Funeral and Immortal. Together with Varg Vikernes he had also been involved in the church arsons. In short, Hades is an old band, regarding its beliefs and concepts.
It is clear even with the first piece that Again Shall Be is purely severe black metal with ill-boding vocals, and yet much more melancholic than other Norwegian bands. Sometimes it reminds me of Filosofem of Burzum. Other times, it reminds me of the variety typical of Old Man’s Child. The album is surely good enough to rank Hades among the first in the list of the Scandinavian black metal, while many other bands have been destined to oblivion. However, except for the first piece Pagan Triumph where choir singing and guitar reefs strike one\'s attention and mind, there are no other pieces, which could easily be remembered. Nevertheless, I think that the direction followed by the band after that has never allowed them to reach the high levels of their debut.
